It's incredible to witness the growth of a child through experiential learning.
When children are given an opportunity to see, touch, smell, cut, cook, wash, clean, and share ingredients and ultimately meals - they're breaking bread with a group of children and camp leaders that will forever be imprinted in their memories (subconsciously or otherwise).
For some reason, more recently, respect has become a distant virtue. At nutriFoodie, we value parents' hard work and commitment to providing a healthy and happy life for their children, and we want to build on that, daily. We embody gratitude and showcase humility in our food and our relationships.
This camp, From Ground to Table, features the journey of our food. From a seed, its growth and harvest, to the collection and purchasing of the chosen items, to the cooking and sharing of it all. The pictures below share a glimpse of our values, culture and lessons through nutriFoodie camps.
This Vancouver camp will be running for ONLY ONE week; spaces are quite limited. In the first half of the day, we will have a cooking session which we will all enjoy together for lunch, as well as teach lessons on sustainability and reducing food waste. The kids will have a uqniue experience visiting the UBC Farm and meeting farmers at the Kits House farmers market, and a fun scavenger hunt at Whole Foods.
